About

Francesca Zanella is a visual artist based between Padua and Venice, Italy.

Her personal path of development in engravings has led to investigate the relationship of lines between earth and sky and inside nature. Her great interest lies experimenting with the creation of different marks made using the tools for engraving and other medium.

The colour, the connecting lines, the transparencies of her works reveal a dreamlike gaze on reality, but vital and evolved, capable of taking nourishment from what surrounds it.

Her images are never clear but seem like memories of something experienced.

She uses different media, such as painting, printing and installation. in addition to traditional engraving techniques she also uses experimental printing methods.

She studied at The Scuola Internazionale di Grafica in Venice and received a Master in Children’s Illustration at the University of Padua.

She has participated in numerous solo and group exibitions in Italy and abroad.
